For the sports enthusiast, the Orange Beach Red Snapper World Championship Tournament held each spring offers the chance for fishermen to reel in the big one and win a portion of the $675,000 purse. Proceeds from this annual tournament are used to build artificial reefs in the Gulf of Mexico and to support the recreational fishing industry.

If golf is more your style, you'll be glad to know that the Gulf Shores area is home to a variety of renowned golf courses, from Scottish-style links to beachside greens.
